Meet Amanda Jaeckel, Office/Quality Manager at Jaeckel Tool & Manufacturing, Inc. an Aerospace tooling and manufacture company located in Athens, TX. Businesses like these play a vital role in the industry, ensuring that many Aerospace companies have the parts they need for ALL forms of aircrafts. Jaeckel Tool & Manufacturing, Inc. does not just specialize in one area and have no problem letting you know that they CAN and WILL do what a lot of other companies cannot or will not do. They build complex parts by design, from landing gear to wing parts, you name it, they will do it; specializing in what their client needs. What sets them apart from the competition is their drive to do what others will not to ensure the client receives quality service. You may be wondering how a business like this ended up in east Texas, and it is nothing short of predestined.
The company was founded in 1988 by John Jaeckel, Amanda’s father-in-law. After setting up shop in California for over 20 years, it was time to move the business to another location. Since Amanda has always enjoyed the small-town country life, had family and friends all around Texas and knowing how important the Aerospace community is in Texas, she suggested that they make the move to the Lonestar state. After almost a year of looking for the perfect place, they had found a home in Malakoff, which led them to the Cedar Creek Lake area. Amanda spoke with the City of Athens, eventually running into the Mayor of Athens and began asking about available properties in the area; where he then informed her of a possible location in town that might be what the Jaeckel’s were looking for. That following week, the owners John and his son Niel flew in from Arizona and California to look at the property. Needless to say, everything started to fall into place after that.
Although it is a company who mostly serves commercial clients, Jaeckel Tool & Manufacturing, Inc. is always willing to support their local community in any way that they can. When the property was purchased, first act of business was to find someone local to help their new location come to fruition. They hired Athens Steel to rebuild their main production shop and JS Dozer to help tidy up and pour the drive, and operations began shortly after. Little things like this are what make Jaeckel Tool & Manufacturing, Inc. a business First State Bank likes to partner with. Not only do we go above and beyond for our clients, but we support local always. Amanda Jaeckel says, “From day 1, First State Bank has made us feel like we’re more than just a deposit slip” and that it’s a “rare find and means a great deal!” #FirstStateBankFamily
